Major Requirements
A Major in French consists of 31 credits above the elementary language level.
A Major in German consists of 31 credits above the elementary language level.
A Major in Japanese Studies consists of 35 credits above the elementary language level.
The B.A. in Spanish degree offers three options:
- Spanish with a concentration in Applied Language (Business Spanish and Translating)
- Spanish with a concentration in Literature and Culture
- Spanish
A Major in Spanish-Applied Language Concentration consists of 30 credits above the intermediate language level plus a one-credit hour Senior Seminar.
The B.A. in Spanish degree offers three options:

A Major in Spanish-Literature and Culture Concentration consists of 30 credits above the intermediate language level plus a one credit hour Senior Seminar.
Spanish – Concentration in Literature and Culture Requirements
The B.A. in Spanish degree offers three options:
- Spanish with a concentration in Applied Language (Business Spanish and Translating)
- Spanish with a concentration in Literature and Culture
- Spanish
The B.A. in Spanish consists of 30 credit hours of language and content courses at the 2000 level or above, plus a one-credit hour Senior Seminar.
Minor Requirements
A Minor in Arabic Studies consists of 20 credits above the elementary language level.
A Minor in Chinese consists of 20 credits above the elementary language level. Students complete 8 language credit hours at the intermediate level and 6 language credit hours at the advanced level.
A Minor in Francophone Studies consists of 15 credit hours above the intermediate language level.
A Minor in French consists of 21 credits above the elementary language level.
A Minor in German consists of 18 credits above the elementary language level.
A Minor in Italian consists of 18-20 credit hours above the elementary language level.
A Minor in Japanese Studies consists of 22 credits above the elementary language level.
A Minor in Russian consists of 20 credits above the elementary language level.
A Minor in Spanish consists of 15 credits above the intermediate language level.
